This Christmas I was really excited to be asked to sing Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ live at the Fire Event at the venerable Woodford Folk Festival 2012-13, in front of many thousands of people, and also to co-direct the ‘Fire Choir’ with my friend Beat Lehmann. This is a photo of the audience as I sang ‘Hallelujah’. Each audience member was given a candle before the Fire Event, and asked to light them when they heard that song. It was like watching a sky fill with stars before my eyes. It was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever experienced, and to be honest, I couldn’t hold the tears back!
